Activism

this project is an extension to my previous dissertation regarding the power of activist art. I aimed to use my art as a powerful tool to support animal welfare through PETA organization. I intended to achieve that by producing meaningful artworks to highlight the cruelty towards animals alongside with some works that suitable for sale to raise some contributions to PETA.
I also seek to demonstrate my capacity in self-direct through planning, analysing, self - reflecting and continuous evaluation in order to develop appropriate outcome with a high standard of maturity and level of professionalism.

Maquette (recycled newspapers and Modroc)18x17x5 cm
This figure represents a fox made of recycled newspapers inside and covered outside by a thin layer of Modroc. I intended to make a ghostly white figure in order to represent the fact of death caused by humans by Stealing the life of animals. I had written a slogan on the top of the figure to convey my message.,(Questioning the fashion industry). The piece was supposed to be in a full size to represent one of my final pieces but due to Coronavirus and working from home it was hard to implement a full size. I made a maquette rather than cancellation of the idea. I am satisfied with the maquette its is very light and strong, also it represents my concept clearly.
The aim of this project is to highlight cruelty towards animals and create an influential activism in order to support animal rights.
As the animals are the centre of my subject, at the start, I planned clearly and explicitly representing animals in my works. First, I used some resources to learn how to draw animals in simple ways. I went further to make some sketches using my research on the power of the art of advertising in order to convey a clear and strong messages. Some of these sketches implemented from the imagination taking advantage from my previous knowledge of the proportions and methods of drawing some animals such as horses and birds. In other sketches I had taken advantage of some pictures of animals from PETA newsletters or the Internet. then I added other elements to express the idea that I intended to publish. I used many techniques and materials to carry out these sketches. I also analysed, evaluated, and linked those sketches to some of the research that I have done.

This journal includes lots of research to achieve a comprehensive vision as possible. Some of these researches are based on facts of the immoral and cruelty of using animals. Also some research on casting techniques for some of the potential materials to be used.
I also touched on activists who use their passion for art to highlight animal issues.
I've also researched the art of advertising and its strategies to deliver a compelling message, which also includes - some of the email correspondence with beta and artists who worked on animal themes. A survey, peer review, weekly schedules - smart goals, self-assessments, mind maps, and other animal organizations based in the UK.
